[Solemn Declaration] Announcement Regarding the Infringement of Our Company Name Rights by the Government-Funded Project HKAGI (hkchat.org)

To the Public, Media, and Relevant Government Departments:

HK local AI service platform hk.chat (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") issues the following solemn declaration concerning the recently discovered misappropriation of its brand name:

Date of Establishment and Service: We have been serving Hong Kong since 2020 The Company has been registered and operating under the name "HKChat / hk.chat" in Hong Kong since 2020, continuously investing in the research and development of artificial intelligence dialogue and related online services. We have established clear brand recognition and commercial reputation within the industry and among our user base, with relevant operating records and evidence being conclusive.

Infringing Act: Serious Market Confusion Caused by a Government-Funded Project Recently, the Company discovered that HKAGI, an organization funded by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, and its cooperative companies, in disregard of the current market situation, launched a similar service using the domain name hkchat.org and the name "HKChat." Their name and service format heavily overlap with those of the Company. As a government-funded project, not only did they fail to take the lead in respecting originality and intellectual property, but they directly misappropriated a brand name that a local startup has operated for many years. This action has severely misled the public and caused damage to the Company's commercial reputation.

Our Actions and Demands To safeguard the Company's rights and interests and maintain a fair business environment, the Company has initiated formal legal and administrative follow-up and presented the following three core demands to the relevant parties:

  1. Immediate Cessation of Infringement: Demand that the organization and its cooperative companies immediately cease using the name "HKChat" and the domain name "hkchat.org" across all channels.
  2. Name Change: Immediately adopt a new name that will not cause confusion with the Company (hk.chat) to set the record straight.
  3. Public Apology: Issue a public apology through official channels to the Company and the affected public for the misappropriation of the name and the market confusion caused.

Serious Stance The Company has always supported the development of innovation and technology development in Hong Kong. However, we must point out that government tolerance of infringing acts will severely undermine Hong Kong's business environment and culture of innovation. We expect the relevant organizations to demonstrate the necessary accountability and address the error. The Company reserves the right to take all appropriate legal action against any act of infringement or improper use of the Company's name.

This declaration is hereby made.
